The trigger squeezed of it own accord
A shot rang and out it soared

Smoking still a flame glowed
A reminder of what was done
This cursed weapon the gun

Its target destroyed

Utopia seems so far a cry

You look to me like an island in the ocean
I take to my boat and in one quick motion
I set the sail for this journey up ahead
I look on with gathering dread
For in the harbor across wavy water
A mighty storm has made me falter

I must admit that I’m not a fighter
But more a friend growing ever quieter
We drift apart as there is not much to say
Our world has turned cold and oh so grey
Speak a word of any kind
And hope in it I want to find
To end this silence cast about
A lack of speech, not a watery drought

For our adventure was over before it began
Held back by a steady hand
